Sewing Flat Joining Seams

The flat joining seam is particularly suitable for fleecy or thick fabrics such as terry, felt or leather. Suitable stitches are the reinforced overlock stitch, the universal stitch, the Lycra stitch and the stretch overlock stitch.

  1. Fit the zigzag foot.
  2. Set the stitch pattern selector knob to H.
  3. Set the stitch length knob to S1.
  4. Set the required stitch width.
  5. Overlap the fabric edges.
  6. Sew along the fabric edge. The needle stitches over the edge of the top layer on the right side into the bottom layer to get a very flat durable seam.
