Joining Seam with Faggot Stitch

The faggot stitch can be used to sew two fabric edges together at a distance. This stitch pattern is used to decorate blouses and children's clothing. The decorative effect of this stitch pattern is more striking if thicker thread is used.

Tacking thread

  1. Fit the zigzag foot.
  2. Set the stitch pattern selector knob to position G.
  3. Set the stitch length knob to S1.
  4. Set the stitch width to 6.
  5. Tack the folded edges of two pieces of fabric to a piece of washable lining with a gap of 4 mm.
  6. Lower the presser foot centrally between the edges of the fabric and sew.
  7. After sewing, remove the lining and tacking thread.
