Solution

Fabric Does Not Feed Well

  1. Lengthen the stitch length.
  2. Increase presser foot pressure for heavy weight fabric.
  3. Decrease the Presser Foot Pressure for lightweight fabrics.
  4. Check the setting of the Differential Feed.

Needle Breaks

  1. Insert the needle correctly.
  2. Do not pull the fabric while sewing.
  3. Tighten the Needle Set Screw.
  4. Use a larger needle on heavyweight fabrics.

Thread Breakage

  1. Loosen the Thread Tension.
  2. Check the threading path.
  3. Check for tangled or caught thread.
  4. Insert the needle correctly.
  5. Insert new needle, current needle may be bent or have a blunt point.
  6. Use high quality thread.

Skipped Stitches

  1. Insert new needles, current needles may be bent or have a blunt point.
  2. Tighten the Needle Set Screw.
  3. Match the needle size with the fabric/thread.
  4. Insert the needles correctly.
  5. Change the type or size of the needles.
  6. Check the threading path.
  7. Increase the Presser Foot Pressure.
  8. Balance the Thread Tension.
  9. Use high quality thread.

Irregular Stitches

  1. Balance the Thread Tension.
  2. Check for tangled or caught thread.
  3. Check the threading path.

Fabric Puckers

  1. Check the setting of the Differential Feed.
  2. Loosen the Thread Tension.
  3. Check for tangled or caught thread.
  4. Use high quality thread.
  5. Shorten the stitch length.
  6. Decrease the Presser Foot Pressure for lightweight fabrics.

Irregular Trimming

  1. Check the alignment of the Knives.
  2. Replace one or both Knives.

Fabric Jam

  1. Reduce the Presser Foot Pressure.
  2. Check the setting of the Differential Feed.
  3. Check for tangled or caught thread.
  4. First baste thick layers of fabric with a conventional sewing machine before sewing with the Overlocker.

The Fabric is Not Cut Properly

  1. Set the cutting width to 9.
  2. Remove lint and remnants from the knife.

Knife Defective

  1. Replace the knife.

Machine Not Running

  1. Connect machine to the power source and switch it on.
  2. Close the hook cover.
