Securing Coverstitches at the Seam End

To secure the coverstitch at the end of the seam, the needle threads need to be pulled through the loop of the looper thread first and then knotted with the end of the looper thread on the wrong side of the fabric.

  1. Turn the fabric to the wrong side.
  2. Undo the loop of the looper thread with a sewing needle and hold it.
  3. Pull the looper thread ends upwards so that the loops of the needle thread appear on the wrong side of the fabric.
  4. String the loops of the needle threads with a sewing needle and pull them up so that all thread ends are on the wrong side of the sewing project.
  5. Knot all thread ends together close to the stitch end.
