Reinforce Buttonhole

When sewing buttonholes on stretch fabric, hook a heavy thread or a cord under the buttonhole foot.

  1. Attach the Buttonhole Foot with Slide (RJ).
  2. Pull out the button holder plate and insert the button.
  3. Pass the thread through the hole in the presser foot and then place it under the foot.
  4. Bring the two cord ends to the front of the foot and insert them in the grooves, then temporarily tie them there.
  5. The stitch width and stitch length has to be adjusted before the sewing starts.
  6. Lower the presser foot an sew the buttonhole.
  7. The buttonhole will sew over the cord, covering it.
  8. Pull the cord loop until the loop disappears in the bartack.
  9. Pull the cord ends with the sewing needle to the back and knot or secure them.
