Oiling the Needle Bar

The needle bar may not move smoothly without lubrication. If the machine is used frequently, the needle bar should be oiled every 6 months to prevent blocking.

Risk of injury near the needle bar.

  1. Switch the machine off and disconnect it from the power supply.
  1. Remove the protective cap (1) and screw (2).
  2. Remove the headframe cover (3).
  3. After removing the headframe cover, pay attention to the moving parts.
  4. Apply a drop of oil to the movement mechanism of the needle bar, including the connecting rod/needle bar, needle bar holder and needle bar holder (apply oil to the points marked with an arrow).
  5. Remove the presser foot.
  6. Turn the handwheel a few times and remove any excess oil with a cloth.
  7. Attach the headframe cover again.
